FAQ (Frequently asked questions)
•Who will be doing the mix?
The mix will be done by one of our four KURID engineers.
•Is it possible to request a specific engineer to do the mix?
Yes, but in this case, please go to the contact page on the KURID INT’L website and consult the person directly.
•Can I specify a date of when the mix needs to be done by?
Once we have received all of the files and are ready to mix, we will get the finished mix to you as soon as possible. However, KURID e-mix does not provide the services of being able to specify the date that you need a mix done by. For mixes that are on tight deadlines, a request for a return date is possible. However, the final charge will differ from the KURID e-mix price.
•Is it possible to request for the session file after the mix?
The only file we will provide is a mixed stereo audio file. We will accept requests on what format the file needs to be in.
•Would it be possible to receive the mix in a TV size edit and or any other size edited versions?
Yes, but for additional costs on top of the listed KURID e-mix price. Please feel free to ask for further inquiries.
•Is there a limit on how long a song can be that I want mixed? Is there a limit to how many tracks are used in a song?
6 minutes is the maximum length for a song and a total of up to 64 tracks can be requested to have mixed. For songs that are over these limits, please ask for a consultation.
•How should I make/prepare files for mixing?
There is a brief explanation on the page, How to create files for mixing. Please read it through. Procedures may vary to what platform/DAW software you are using but the explanation will take you through the steps in creating files for mixing by soloing a track and creating a bounced file. Once all tracks are bounced, please make them into a ZIP file.
For inquiries such as, “I have read through the How to create files for mixing page and don’t understand how you want the files. Can I just send you a ProTools session?” or any other related questions, please feel free to ask us through the Order page.
•How should we give/send you the files to have mixed?
We would prefer receiving files through a file transfer service but we will also accept data DVD-Rs. Listed below are some file transferring services that are frequently used.
YouSendIt (the most commonly known file transfer service)
WeTransfer (upload files up to 2GB in size)
•Is there a discount if I request to have more than one song mixed?
Please ask for rates regarding mixes of more than one song when placing your order.
•What is PayPal payment?
Once an order for a mix has been placed, a PayPal invoice (like the one shown below) will be sent to you by email. You do not have to have a PayPal account as long as PayPal accepts your credit card. We will start your mix once the payment of the order has been confirmed.
•Is mastering available?
Mastering is out of our field of expertise, however we can enter a PQ code and deliver the mix to you in a DDP file. Please feel free to ask for further inquires.
•Can I ask for pitch fixing and timing edits?
When receiving files that are ready to be mixed, we are under the assumption that all editing and pitch related fixes have been made. However, we are open for consultations regarding inquiries on pitch and timing issues.
•What is the best way to make a request on how the final mix should sound?
It is very difficult to express sound into words. You can give us a song that you want your mix to sound like. Or, you can give us references such as “I would like the drums to sound like this song,” or “I want the vocals to sound like…”
